Linda spins and makes a variety of knitted and felted fashions from the soft, warm fibre of her own alpacas. Visit with these curious, exotic animals and see the cute babies! Enjoy a cup of tea and dessert in our new tea house!

From Rocky, north on Hwy. 22. Turn east on Hwy. 12 for 8 km to Rge. Rd. 6-4. Then north for 4.8 km, end of 'No Exit' road on left. Watch for "Zelda's Teanook" sign.

Thanks to everyone who made last years’ Studio Tour such a success! We are looking forward to seeing you again and meeting new people! We now have our tea house open and are serving over 80 teas, including 8 of our own blends, as well as various desserts. Come visit us this summer, bring your bag lunch and schedule in a tea and dessert break during your tour. Enjoy a hot or iced cup of tea, hot chocolate, coffee, Italian cream sodas, and more while watching our amazing animals!!!

We fell in love with these inquisitive animals 8 years ago when we bought our first animals and being able to work with their fibre is an added bonus. I have been knitting and crocheting for years and working with their fibre is the ultimate pleasure. Try your hand at needle felting! See hand spinning, before and after machine felted items, hats, ponchos, scarves, and much more all made from our own animals! You will enjoy touching the babies fibre and hand feeding the adults. We are anticipating some babies in early July! The alpacas are very gentle and small! An average adult female is 125 to 150 pounds; males are 175 to 200 pounds and newborn (crias) 15 to 20 pounds at birth. Alpaca is considered to be a relatively rare specialty fiber. Some of the desirable attributes include silky, soft, supple and luxurious handle, unusually strong and resilient, soft as cashmere and warmer, lighter, and stronger than lambs’ wool, naturally water repellent, and most important, most people allergic to wool can comfortably wear pure alpaca next to their skin.

If you can’t make it to the Open Studio Weekend visit us for a cup of tea and dessert and view the many alpaca fashions I make as well as various female artists/artisans works that we feature. Our summer hours are Noon to 5:00 p.m. Thursday to Sunday, June to October or by appointment. We are located 3 miles north of the Canyon Creek Golf Course on highway 12. Watch for our Zelda’s Tea Nook signs, see the Studio Tour brochure for directions, or visit our website at www.ZeldasTeaNook.ca. Have a round of golf and come visit us as well!
