Rocky Artist's Studio Tour

The Rocky Mountain House area contains many world class artists. Many of the artists involved in the studio tour have shown in galleries and/or sold artwork around the world. This is your opportunity to view high quality art and fine craft which would normally be seen in galleries in a major urban area. You will get to meet each artist and see their working studio spaces as well.

The following artists have been confirmed for the 2010 Rocky Studio Tour:

Merv Krivoshein - Wood Sculpture & Carvings

Merv's unique ideas for working with wood and his superior craftsmanship has led to his recent publication in the well known Lark series of books. Often his wood pieces are cast in bronze as well. The gardens surrounding this studio have also been publized making this a beautiful and fascinating stop all in one.

After Hour Authors

After Hour Authors is a group comprised of writers, illustrators and poets. They are all souls on their own personal journeys to find a means to express the nagging voices of their intuitive imaginations. The group is together to help nurture and motivate each other in reaching their publishing goals. Come out to meet this group at Gently Used Books in the town of Rocky Mountain House.

Syd Sellers creates one of a kind items on a wood lathe using wood from around the world. I uncover Mother Natures beauty in the woods such as grain figure and colours while creating bowls, platters, vases as well as items for the home like salt & pepper grinders, spurtles, pin cushions, scissor holders, and everyone needs a Magic wand.

Kate finds never-ending inspiration in the beauty of nature and attempts in her oil paintings to pass on the joy in the moment of being there.  Her favorite way to spend time is to be immersed in the landscape with paintbrush in hand.  After raising her son and working for many years as a picture framer while dabbling in painting, Kate is now living her dream of eking out a living as a starving artist.  Kate's paintings can be found in collections around the world, with several included in the Alberta Foundation for the Arts collection.
